Job Description:

Job Summary:

The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with Kenyan statutory requirements, and supporting budgeting and audit processes.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Maintain accurate books of accounts in accordance with IFRS and company policies
  • Record and reconcile general ledger entries, bank statements, and intercompany transactions
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and collections

Statutory Compliance (Kenya)

  • Prepare and file PAYE, VAT, and Withholding Tax returns with KRA
  • Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax laws and regulations
  • Coordinate statutory deductions (NSSF, NHIF) and payroll reconciliations
  • Support internal and external audits and respond to audit queries

Budgeting & Controls

  • Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis
  • Monitor expenses and ensure cost controls
  • Support cash flow planning and forecasting

Coordination & Support

  • Liaise with banks, auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies
  • Support management with financial analysis and reports as required
  • Maintain proper financial documentation and records

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent qualification (preferred or in progress)
  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax and statutory requirements
  • Experience working with accounting software (Odoo)
