POSITION OVERVIEW

Abacus is seeking a Senior Technical Writer with 8–10 years of experience to create, maintain, and govern high-quality technical documentation across the Software Engineering Centre of Excellence (CoE). The role focuses on translating complex technical concepts into clear, structured, and user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences while driving documentation governance and knowledge management practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain technical documentation standards, templates, and governance processes across the Software Engineering CoE
• Create and manage technical documentation including API documentation, system design documents, operational runbooks, onboarding guides, user manuals, and release notes
• Collaborate with engineering squads, architects, DevOps, QA, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to gather and document technical information
• Produce documentation for cloud platforms, integration services, enterprise applications, and AI-enabled products
• Ensure documentation is aligned with Agile delivery cycles, sprint execution, and release management processes
• Create and maintain knowledge repositories to improve engineering knowledge sharing and reusability
• Support governance, compliance, and audit readiness through accurate and up-to-date documentation
• Simplify complex technical concepts for executive, operational, and business audiences
• Drive documentation quality reviews, version control, and process standardization initiatives
• Support onboarding and enablement of engineers through structured technical learning content and guides

REQUIREMENTS

• 8–10 years of experience in Technical Writing within software engineering, technology, or digital transformation environments
• Strong experience documenting APIs, cloud platforms, DevOps processes, system integrations, and enterprise applications
• Experience working within Agile software delivery environments and understanding of SDLC and DevOps practices
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Confluence, Jira, SharePoint, Markdown, Swagger/OpenAPI, or similar platforms
• Strong technical writing, editing, and documentation governance skills
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into business-friendly language
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across fast-paced engineering teams

PREFERRED / NICE TO HAVE

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field
• Experience with enterprise-scale cloud and digital transformation programs
• Exposure to AI-enabled products and modern engineering platforms
• Knowledge of process improvement, standardization, and quality assurance practices
